Great campground. Bring quarters if you want to take a hot shower and stop by the Vons a couple miles up the road for firewood. The beach isn't so great for surfing but because of that you mostly get it to yourself. Awesome experience.
We were lucky enough to find this camping spot in Oxnard. Only a 15 min drive to Downtown Ventura, McGrath offers a spacious camping experience with an intimate feel. It's close to the beach too! A quarter mile walk through small sand dunes, smooth rocks, and driftwood.
Currently the campground is open on limited day-to-day basis, depending on weather and camp conditions. Half the camp remains flooded by the Estuary. We decided to try this campground out over NYE weekend at the last minute and there were …
